Award for Fire Protection in the year 2011

On March 15th, the publishers of Feuertrutz bestowed upon us “Brandschutz des Jahres 2011” (“Fire protection of the year, 2011”). With the fire protection concept making the difference, we submitted the “Passarelle” Shopping center in the EVAG subway station at the Essen main train station and we were honored with this award.

Art instead of coal - Fire Protection in the Zollverein Coal Washing Plant, Essen

The FeuerTrutz Magazine 6/2009 lists Professional Engineers (Dipl.-Ing) A. Pfeiffer, W. Trompeta, and Markus Kraft

The redevelopment of the former coal washing plant of the Zollverin mine into a world heritage site required a lot of creative energy from the architects, developer, and involved professional planners; in particular, the solutions to the questions surrounding the feasibility of adequately adhering to the structural requirements and building regulations. So that the parties involved can understand the dimensions of the assigned task, it was also required that the building, its former function, and the new uses be included in the following article.

Practical fire protection for the redevelopment of high-rise office buildings - professional journal Metarmophose 03/2007

High-rises from the 1960’s and 70’s were built in a time when these building regulations were lacking in Germany.
