Fire load calculation under DIN 18230

With the objective of determining the necessary fire protection requirements for industrial buildings as precisely as possible, we follow a specific process in the analysis of industrial buildings. This, among other things, is based on the fundamental principle of fire propensity.

In this process, an equivalent fire propensity is first calculated depending on the smoke and heat outlets via the building shell or its openings. Taking various constants into account, the required resistance is calculated from this fire propensity.

By means of this individual verification process, the requirements can be individually matched to the specific conditions for construction and for use, which usually results in a reduction of the fire resistance.

It must, however, be pointed out that a change in the planned conditions results in a new computerised verification process. This particularly applies in the case of increased fire loads.
