Referenzprojekte / Consultations in the Structure of Competitions and Studies
For many architects, participating in architectural competitions and feasibility studies allows them the possibility of working on very sophisticated projects. The requirements in such competitions in the last year have been enormous. Today, BSCON is involved as part of a planning team to develop advanced and detailed plans. Through cooperation between our technical designs and the licensing authorities, we can be approved to enter and present our package in the competition.

Project description for the Bibliosphere
Architectural office, greeen! Architects’ competition entry is a sphere raising approximately 60 m, 197 ft, above the library, and is connected by a foyer through the entire height. The sphere is situated over a multi-story and multi-functional building that acts as a socket that is characterized by its open geometry.
The entire breadth, approx. 230 m or 755 ft, and height, 60 m or 197 ft, stands on a complex structure that surpasses the requirements of preventative fire protection. In particular, a high grade of interior flexibility was considered in our discussions.
The symbolism of the sphere in a design competition stands out as a landmark and in spite of the difficult planning stages, the requirements of fire protection were met.

New building for the department of urban development and the environment, Hamburg
Architectural office, greeen! Architects’ competition entry provides a wide angled front with an area of 53,000 m², approx. 570,500 ft², as an office and administrative building.
Their energy efficient building also has multi-purpose lower floors that are allotted as an extensive underground parking garage.
The fire protection plan has the condition that each floor has the greatest possible flexibility in use. This requirement was met through the optimal arrangement of the core areas so that the number of major obstacles could be reduced.
With a max height of 50 m, 164 ft, and a width of approx. 220 m, 721.5 ft, there were high expectations placed on this design; these expectations were met. For compliance with protection requirements, our goals were to work very closely in our partnership with greeen! architects, so that we could optimize the design.
