Referenzprojekte / Fire protection in pre-existing facilities
The engineering based challenges of the future lie in the in the area of existing buildings. Existing buildings require more know-how, experience, and creativity to create technical fire protection solutions than new buildings. BSCON faces these challenges already today. Having converted structures between sophisticated uses, such as in historical buildings, has given us much experience through coordination with supervising authorities.

Project description for the Former Konsumgenossenschaft (consumer cooperative) “Vorwärts” on Münzstraße in Wuppertal-Barmen
Project
The building complex of the former consumer cooperative “Vorwärts” on Münzstraße 47-53 is provided with an historically accurate restoration. The building complex contains a prestigious office and warehouse, and includes a large bakery, coffee roasting plant, underground rail station, plus five homes. The building should be preserved and put to future use. Among other things, it should be a state historical museum, “historischer Lernot” so that in working together with ARGE, a medium for education and training about GBA-ARGE can develop.
Area
The current restoration and reconstruction currently affects three floors with the area of each floor being 2,500 m² -or- 26,910 ft².
