Fire protection concepts for hotels have strict regulations due a high number of people unfamiliar with the building and many may even be sleeping when a fire starts. For hotels that extend underground, existing regulations are tightened and new regulations are also implemented. Under the new concept, the hotel guest should, in case of a fire, be protected in his or her own room. For this, the walls must meet F30 regulations (30 minutes of protection) and smoke doors must be used. An alarm system is also required.
