Opening ceremony of the Ruhr.2010, Essen

Creating a Fire Protection Concept for the opening ceremony of Ruhr.2010, when the area was named a "cultural center of Europe."

Considerations included that many of the structures were temporary (Platform holding 1200 people), and the boundary conditions caused by the Zollverein, an historical coal mining facility.

Zollverein mine, Essen

Awarded as the most attractive event location in Germany - Conga Award 2009

Because of the special building and halls of the site of the Zollverein coal mine, it is necessary, from a building standards and regulations point of view, to create case-specific fire protection plan.

Because of our particular experience and personal knowledge of the world heritage location, BSCON supports the Zollverein fund, local events, and the Cultural center, Ruhr.2010.

In particular, consultation was provided regarding the following events:
-The opening ceremony of Ruhr.2010 at Zollverein
-Rafael Cortes Flamenco concert in the former salt storage of the Zollverein
-GPS-Festival in front of and in Hall 5 of the Zollverein mine
-Video installation by John Cale in salt storage
-Performance artist Dmitry Krymov in the salt storage facility
-Promethiade - International Theater festival in the UNESCO-Welterbe Epidauros
-Istanbul and Zollverein mine in Essen
-Mottoradgottesdienst -motorcycle worship- with 3000 visitors to Zollverein

-Closing ceremony of Ruhr.2010 in the Sanaa-building

Trial at the Christian Hospital in Quakenbrück

As part of remodeling the fire accesses to the Osnabrück hospital, it was required that additional mounting surfaces for fire ladders be installed. On the basis of 3-D analysis in CAD, it was determined that additional surface area for the trucks was not necessary. With help from an instructor of the fire department, the analysis was confirmed.
