Technical regulatory authorities require the preparation of case specific Fire Protection Concepts for the U-Bahnstationen (subway stations. Components are tested using fire and evacuation simulations. Actual fire tests were used as a basis to calibrate the simulations. In the results, the time dependent energy release of the vehicle was significantly reduced compared to values given in handbooks. Through this, policies can be further optimized and costs can be reduced.
