Fire department routing cards

Fire department routing cards are an important part of the concept of alarm systems. They allow the fire department to detect the triggered alarm and find the source of the fire. Through site plans that identify entry locations, the shortest route can be determined.

Routing cards are, on the norm, necessary if there is a fire alarm system in the building. The planning and conception of the alarm system depends, among other things, on the regulations in DIN 14675.

The basics of the routing cards are the floor plan and the obstruction layout. In this case the position of the detector, detector groups, and message areas are added. They must be made from semi-rigid foil or cardboard in a protective film (laminated).

Routing cards must remain current. Therefore it is necessary that all changes to the alarm system or building structure must be immediately reported in order to update maps. This is the responsibility of the operator of the building.

The client or the operator of the system is responsible for completeness of the card and its updating.
